America's Declaration of Independence from the "Community of the West"
European politicians are now trying to con the United States into continuing to fund the slaughter between Ukraine and Russia
I recently quoted John Quincy Adams’s dictum that “America goes not abroad, in search of monsters to destroy” to argue that Ukraine can ignore a U.S.-led peace deal if they choose to do so, but can do so without having their hand in the pockets of the American taxpayer. Now Donald Tusk, former president of the European Council and current prime minister of Poland, is saying that ending financial and military support for Ukraine in their war with Russia will amount to “a capitulation of the whole community of the West.”

It should be pointed out that whatever peace deal is negotiated by the United States, the European Union and Poland can do whatever they want as far as funding Ukraine and Volodymyr Zelensky in their war against Russia, and shoulder the consequences of that decision themselves. They have the option to continue funding war for as long as they like, or as long as their taxpayers will tolerate it, and the United States should not stand in their way.
As far as the “community of the West” is concerned, and the hit to their glory that might happen should the United States end the slaughter in Eastern Europe, let me once again quote John Quincy Adams so that Prime Minister Tusk is clear on where the United States of America stands.
[America’s] glory is not dominion, but liberty. Her march is the march of the mind. She has a spear and a shield: but the motto upon her shield is, Freedom, Independence, Peace. This has been her Declaration: this has been, as far as her necessary intercourse with the rest of mankind would permit, her practice.
America will have peace, whatever the “community of the West” thinks about it, and Americans are tired of funding European delusions of grandeur. If European politicians want a glorious war against Russia, then you can try to convince your own taxpayers to fund and die for it, may God bless them and protect them from their governments, but America will have none of it.
