Mediaite blames Michigan voter over Biden altercation
Joe Biden got into a brief altercation with an autoworker in Michigan over the Second Amendment and gun rights on the day of the Michigan primary, accusing the autoworker of being "full of shit" and wagging his finger in the worker's face for accusing him of trying to take guns away. Zachary Petrizzo at Mediaite writes:
Former Vice President Joe Biden got into a heated exchange with a Detroit autoworker over gun rights Tuesday, with votes coming in during the Michigan primary.
“You are actively trying to diminish our second amendment right and take away our guns,” one autoworker yelled at Biden while appearing to be looking at his phone.
“You’re full of shit,” Biden fired back, adding, “I support the second amendment.”
“From the very beginning, I have a shotgun, I have a 20 gauge, a 12 gauge, my son’s hunt,” Biden said, adding, “I’m not taking your gun away at all.”
Rather than hold the powerful millionaire, former Senator and Vice President of the United States to account for his abysmal behavior toward this autoworker, and plenty of other voters before him, by cursing at him and disrespectfully putting his finger in the worker's face, which the voter, to his credit, tells him is not acceptable, Petrizzo focuses on the behavior of the autoworker.
Petrizzo writes about how an earlier video shows the worker looming in the background and "spoiling for his argument" with Biden. Almost as if voters don't have the right to ask tough questions of the candidates seeking their votes and asking to wield almost total power over their lives. Yes, Joe Biden has said that Second Amendment rights are not absolute, even in this very argument, so why is he above being questioned about it?
Joe Biden has repeatedly disrespected voters and reporters on the campaign trail who ask him tough questions by getting in their faces, putting his finger in their face, or cursing at them of which this is just the latest example. It seems odd that very few media outlets are willing to hold him accountable or even cover this aspect of his candidacy given what a threat it is to democracy or the freedom of the press anytime President Trump has a disparaging word for anyone.
