Justice Ginsburg put the Supreme Court in jeopardy for Democrats
We can all certainly feel empathy for Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's newest cancer diagnosis, but it should be remembered that she had the opportunity during the Obama regime to step down and have a Democratic president with a Democratic Senate nominate and confirm a progressive as her successor. She was already 75 with a history of cancer when Obama was inaugurated in January 2009.
For anyone feeling sorry for her that she has to muster the fortitude to try to hold on through a hypothetical inauguration of Joe Biden as president, just remember that she and the Democratic Party are only in this position because of her desire to remain on the court through the 2016 presidential election that obviously did not go the way she thought it would.
Now if President Trump has the opportunity to choose a successor for one of the most progressive members of the Supreme Court it will change the ideological makeup of the court for years to come, which is what Democrats are correct to be afraid of.
